Our Almoners Role
Our Almoner, Edward "Ted' Forecast, is the 'eyes and ears' for our Lodge. His role sees him ensuring the welfare of our members and widows of our members is taken care of, in particular his tasks involve;
Keeping In Touch
- Regular contact with sick or distressed Lodge Members
- Regular contact with Lodge widows
- Making contact with the families of recently deceased Brethren
- Being alert to the needs and the possible problems of Brethren and their dependants
Keeping Informed
- Being aware of the aims of the Masonic charities
- Having a basic knowledge of the support available and where to seek additional advice
Provide Support
- Make new members welcome
- Ensuring Brethren, partners and dependents are aware of the support availalbe through our Lodge
- Visiting members who may need support or assistance
- Assist, in conjunction with other Lodges, with requests for visiting a brother, widow or dependant from another area
Records and Reporting
- Records and reports to Brethren on all visits to Brethren, widows and/or dependents
- Maintains a record of contact details for all Brethren, widows and dependents, which as far as possible includes past members
- Reports on the above to the Brethren at each Lodge meeting, while preserving confidentiality
